various artists presented by molten brothers
molten brothers present “DECK 2007” ; artist’s original artwork on skatedecks. for the second year, mike goodwin and ken richardson (aka the molten brothers) have given blank skatedecks to local and national artists of various backgrounds, to create their own works of art. from painting, printmaking, and collage, to a variety of sculptural methods, every piece is a unique look at that artists’ idea of the skateboarding sub-culture.

the photos are all shot on b&w film. they are printed on traditional silver paper. the paper is bergger fiber-based paper which is from france and is the oldest photographic paper company in the world. the prints are then toned with various toners to get the desired tonal qualities. the prints are a mix of photography from japan where i did an exchange in 2001. the rancher photos are from a current book project i am working on called, 100 years 100 ranchers. it is photography project documenting ranching families from arizona that have been ranching since 1912 or earlier in arizona.

mike campbell's installation: "Italian Streets"
the intent of this installation was to create an environment within LUX that expresses one idea about the life and landscape of italy. by fusing together a series of photographys and art one vision comes to life. its not about the individual pieces. it's the story they tell as a whole.

gallery 1: c-prints from the series “Beirut Imprints” portraying the city’s indelible scars of war despite a currently peaceful façade; and the struggle of the lebanese people to forget, renovate and carry on with resilience and grace.
gallery 2: b&w gelatin-silver prints from the series “perception.” the images reflect the idea of ‘how we look’, and how that creates what we see and what we know.
